1. We met life guarding in Myrtle Beach ten years ago. I turned 21 that summer. 2. In the fall, after only knowing each other a few months, we packed up all our belongings into a U-haul and traveled across the country to Salt Lake City, Utah. We worked that winter at Park City Ski Resort. We learned to snowboard and that we don't really like snow and move backed to the beach in the spring. 3. That fall Brian followed me to Kentucky so I could finish school and ended up back in school himself. I graduated with with a BA in art studio and a BA in art education. Brian graduated with his doctorate in physical therapy. 4. We were married under a big oak tree in South Carolina, on an old plantation near the beach. 5. For two and half years while I waited for Brian to finish school I taught high school art. 6. We were ready for a new adventure, so we drove south and fell in love with Savannah. 7. Brian started his first big job as a physical therapist and I landed my dream job at SCAD. 8. We bought the cutest little 1930's bungalow. 9. Life was good and there was only one thing that would make it better..... a baby. We tried and tried. The odds were staked against us, IVF was our only chance. And finally, after years of waiting, hoping, dreaming, and praying it happened. There were two pink lines on the pregnancy test. 10. Finley Rose Ylisto was born on April 9th. We are head over heels in love and so excited to spend the rest of our lives with her.
